Speaking Topics

All of Laura's presentations can be adapted to fit any of your program needs. Every theme can be shared in a single presentation, or expanded into several presentations to accommodate all-day conferences or weekend retreats.

Lifesavers for Single Moms
The number of single parents is on the rise, and the task of raising children alone can leave a mother feeling like she's drowning in a sea of overwhelming demands. Drawing on her own experience as a former single mother, Laura will show you how to recognize and grab onto the physical, emotional and spiritual lifesavers God sends your way. You will come away feeling refreshed and revitalized, and you will be practically equipped with ways to help your kids thrive in a single parent home. (This is one of Laura's most requested topics, and is done often as a weekend retreat - a getaway most single moms desperately need!)

 Blue Jean Friendship
A good friendship, like a good pair of jeans, just gets better with time. But, just like your favorite blue jeans get rips, tears, and frayed edges from a lot of wear, so can your friendships get worn out if you don't take good care of them. This fun seminar not only takes a peek into the importance of having faithful friends, but will equip you to repair frayed friendships, encourage you to build durable friendships, and empower you with ideas for fortifying all of your friendships, old and new, so that just like your favorite pair of blue jeans, you can keep them forever.
(A great seminar for a "girls day out" event; have everyone in attendance wear her favorite pair of jeans!)

Unfailing Love
Of all the commandments God gave us, there is one that trumps them all - to love. Love God. Love others. Love yourself. Love is the one thing that Jesus said is more important than anything else we can do with our lives, that's why it's called the "greatest commandment". But how do you love a God you can't see? How do you love others who aren't very lovable? And how do you love yourself when some days you can't even stand to be with yourself? Find out how in this life-changing seminar. Love never fails.
(Makes a perfect three-part presentation for a weekend retreat, or an all-day conference.)

How Good People Get Into Trouble
Temptation. It's everywhere. It can't be avoided...or can it? Christians aren't exempt from temptation, but they can safeguard themselves against it. Using the life of King David, Laura will expose three common mistakes Christians make that get them into trouble, and then equip you with three classic measures to keep you out of trouble! Whether you are a brand new believer, or a long-time Christ follower, this seminar will strengthen your faith!

Every Woman's Wardrobe: God's Armor
Women and fashion go together like hand in glove; so does life and its struggles. At times, life can be like one giant battlefield! While most women spend a considerable amount of time building a wardrobe in order to dress for business success, we neglect to dress for spiritual success. Using Ephesians 6 as a springboard, Laura identifies six ways that the enemy of our souls attempts to disable and destroy Christians, by stripping them of their spiritual wardrobe. In turn, you will be equipped with six daily defenses to combat the enemy's attacks, as you clothe yourself in the armor of God - the wardrobe no woman should be without. (Great topic to pair with a fashion show!)

Rooted In Peace
Everyone wants to live in peace. But we do not live in a peaceful world. Fear. Anxiety. Worry. Conflict. Chaos. Stress. Like weeds in a garden, negative life experiences get planted and then grow and spread until they choke out the life God intended for us. Learn how to get to the root of the fears that kill your joy and threaten your faith, and start tending to your spiritual garden. Based on II Timothy 1:7 and Romans 12:2, Laura uses the encouraging truth of Scripture along with empowering anxiety-busting techniques to assist you in uprooting the peace-stealing thoughts and beliefs that may have grown wild and undetected in your life, and then how to re-plant seeds of peace and fertilize your mind with the truth! (Meeting planners: garden decor is a great fit for this theme!)

Praying for Israel
It is currently the world's political and religious hot spot: "Those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those who curse Israel will be cursed" - that's a direct promise from Scripture. God calls Jerusalem, "My city" in Isaiah 45:13; it is one of 881 references to the only city in the Bible that God instructs us to pray for by name. Sharing pictures from her recent journey to Israel with Aglow International, Laura will help bring Scripture to life for you. Learn why the most hotly contested pieces of land in Israel are directly tied to God's covenant with His people, and how to be a part of God's plan in praying for their peace and protection.

The PMS Plan
Are you a woman over 40? Did it seem when you entered the "over the hill" zone that your physical, mental, and spritual life was just "over"? Suddenly counting calories, forgetting where you parked your car, and falling asleep with your head in the book of Psalms became the norm instead of just occasional occurrences? You may be over one hill, but there are more hills ahead to climb and you've got lots more of life to enjoy, so join me ( a woman over 40) girlfriends, for both a fun and practical look at growing older and making the most of it. Physically. Mentally. Spiritually. "PMS" doesn't have to be a bad word anymore!

Battered women.
